KATSEYE Releases Lara-Co-Written Single ‘Unloveu’ as ‘WILD’ Continues Billboard Run [WATCH]
KATSEYE has released “Unloveu,” a new single that explores the quiet process of moving on after a breakup.
Released digitally on Wednesday, Oct. 14, the track was previously available exclusively as a hidden bonus track on the physical limited-edition version of the group’s third EP, “WILD.”
Co-written by group member Lara, the song marks a departure from the high-energy pop and dance tracks that define much of the EP. Instead, it features restrained vocals, layered harmonies and a hypnotic title phrase that reinforces its theme of letting go of a relationship as feelings gradually fade.
Lara crafted the track alongside hitmaker Ross Golan, whose songwriting credits include Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber, and Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen, known for her chart-topping work with Sabrina Carpenter.
The release comes as KATSEYE continues to maintain a presence on major Billboard charts, with “WILD” and its singles extending their runs in the United States.
Lara Helps Shape KATSEYE’s More Intimate Sound
“Unloveu” focuses on the emotional transition that follows a breakup, capturing the moment when a once-intense connection begins to lose its hold. Its understated production places the vocals at the forefront, offering a contrast to the energetic sound associated with the rest of “WILD.”
The digital release also makes the previously limited-edition track accessible to a wider audience, including fans who did not purchase the physical version of the EP.
Black-and-White Visualizer Complements the Single
Alongside the release, KATSEYE unveiled a black-and-white visualizer on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel. The minimalist clip shows the members singing softly in a vast, open space before leaving one by one, with a solitary chair remaining at the end.
The imagery serves as a visual metaphor for closure, complementing the song’s theme without relying on elaborate choreography or a detailed narrative. Its stripped-back presentation also distinguishes the release from the group’s more performance-driven music.
‘WILD’ Maintains Its Billboard 200 Presence
“Unloveu” arrives during a strong chart run for KATSEYE. “WILD” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the week of Aug. 29 and remains on the chart for an eighth consecutive week. On the latest chart dated Oct. 17, the EP holds the No. 39 position.
The project’s singles have also continued to perform across Billboard rankings. Prerelease track “Animal” has spent 11 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, where it currently sits at No. 32. The song has also reached a new peak of No. 12 on the Pop Airplay chart.
Meanwhile, “Hootie Frutti,” the EP’s energetic lead single, climbed 51 positions to reach No. 120 on the Billboard Global 200.
The chart performances highlight the group’s continued visibility across multiple markets as it expands its musical catalog beyond its initial release period.
KATSEYE Prepares for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
Formed through a joint venture between HYBE and Geffen Records, KATSEYE represents HYBE’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy, which adapts elements of the K-pop development model for international talent. Since its U.S. debut in 2024, the group has steadily expanded its global presence.
The group is next set to perform at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles on Sunday, local time. The appearance will provide another opportunity to introduce KATSEYE to audiences beyond its established music fan base.
With “Unloveu” now available digitally, the group is offering listeners a different musical perspective on “WILD” while its EP and singles continue to chart. The release adds a more reflective track to KATSEYE’s growing catalog as the group prepares for its next major live appearance.
