Selena Gomez Stuns in Red Prada Gown As She Shares Rare Impact Fund’s $30 Million Mental Health Milestone
Selena Gomez arrives at the fourth annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 14, wearing a striking red Prada gown while celebrating a major milestone for her youth mental health initiative.
The fund, launched alongside her Rare Beauty brand in 2020 with a pledge to raise $100 million over 10 years, has already collected more than $30 million to support mental health organizations and programs for young people. At the event, Gomez also opens up to PEOPLE about her husband, Benny Blanco, and the importance of seeking help when mental health struggles feel overwhelming.
While her red dress draws attention on the pink carpet, the event highlights a cause Gomez says is deeply personal: making sure young people have places where they can find support and feel less alone. The fund works with organizations across five continents and reaches an estimated 3.5 million young people each year.
Selena Gomez’s Red Prada Gown Makes a Statement
Gomez, 34, attends the benefit at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles in an embellished red Prada gown featuring a sculptural waist inspired by rose petals. She completes the look with matching red satin pumps, silver jewelry, and sleek hair.
The appearance brings together her public profile as an entertainer and her work supporting youth mental health. The annual benefit raises awareness of the Rare Impact Fund’s mission, which focuses on expanding access to mental health resources for young people.
Gomez launched the initiative with Rare Beauty in 2020, setting a fundraising goal of $100 million over 10 years. The fund has raised more than $30 million so far, according to PEOPLE.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the event, Gomez says seeing the results in communities has been especially rewarding.
“Probably actually witnessing what we do, we are so fortunate to have raised 30 million plus already for this fund, and seeing what we’re doing with the communities, with programs, different organizations, it’s beyond my wildest dreams,” she says.
She adds that helping young people find a welcoming place to connect with others makes the work meaningful.
“Going to a center for young people to even just go and be around other people and feel support, we’re able to see what we are doing from the ground up, and we’re doing it globally,” Gomez tells PEOPLE. “It’s the most incredibly proud thing that I could ever just claim.”
How Benny Blanco Supports Selena Gomez
Gomez also discusses the importance of having people she can turn to when she needs someone to listen. She credits her husband, music producer Benny Blanco, whom she married in September 2025, as an important source of personal support.
“I guess it’s why I married Benny, but I truly feel fortunate that I have the best people in my life to be able to call and talk to, or just let them listen to whatever I’m thinking,” she tells PEOPLE.
The couple marked their first wedding anniversary on Sept. 27. Blanco celebrated on Instagram Stories with a photograph of a preserved slice of their wedding cake, writing, “year old cake never tasted so good.”
He also shared a photograph from their wedding ceremony with the caption, “1 year down… forever to go…” Gomez marked the occasion with a picture of the couple embracing in their wedding clothes, writing, “Happy anniversary, my love” and “I love you to the moon and back.”
Selena Gomez’s Message to People Struggling With Mental Health
Gomez has spoken publicly about her own mental health experiences and uses her platform to encourage conversations about issues that can be difficult to discuss. Her advocacy has also earned her PEOPLE’s inaugural Beauty Impact Award for the work connected to Rare Beauty and its wider community.
At the benefit, she offers a direct message to people who may feel unsure about asking for help.
“You’re enough. Don’t think that you’re not worthy of the help. It can feel lonely, but definitely believe that you can do it,” she tells PEOPLE.
Her message reflects the purpose behind the fund: helping young people access support rather than feeling they must face their struggles alone. With more than $30 million raised, Gomez says seeing the initiative reach communities around the world is one of the most meaningful parts of the work.
The benefit therefore celebrates more than a fashion moment. It also highlights Gomez’s effort to turn her public platform into support for young people who need mental health resources.
