Summoner: Daniel Ings & Stephanie Beatriz Join Amazon MGM Horror Movie
EXCLUSIVE: Amazon MGM Studios has entered production on its Kevin Bacon horror film Summoner, with two additions to the cast: Daniel Ings (The Gentlemen) and Stephanie Beatriz (A Man on the Inside).
No word on roles played by the duo.
Written and directed by Jeremy Slater, the film follows Jefferson Haddock (Bacon), who is called into an isolated witness protection property to deal with a terrifying demon, unleashing a force that threatens to end him and everything around him.
Summoner‘s cast also includes the previously announced Giorgia Whigham. Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Russell Ackerman are producing alongside executive producers Dan Kagan, Melissa Russell, Carl Hampe, and John Schoenfelder. The film will be released in theaters at a date not yet disclosed.
A British actor best known for his work on shows like Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen and HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Ings can currently be seen starring opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones in Prime Video’s Kill Jackie. He has a stacked slate coming up, including Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter, the Cynthia Erivo legal drama Prima Facie recently launched out of TIFF, and David Leitch’s Jason Statham Stole My Bike — plus Apple dramedy The Husbands opposite Juno Temple and the Channel 4 series The Rachel Incident. He is repped by United Agents, WME, ColorCreative, TFC Management, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Best known for starring opposite Andy Samberg in the Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Beatriz’s recent credits include A Man on the Inside and Don’t Say Good Luck for Netflix, as well as such animated series as The Legend of Vox Machina, Krapopolis and Hazbin Hotel. She is repped by Gersh, Authentic, and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
