Friday Night Lights Stars Campaign For James Talarico In Midterms Final Push – WATCH
“It’s time to leave it all on the field.”
That’s the message Friday Night Lights stars Connie Britton, Jesse Plemons and Adrianne Palicki are pitching to Texans in the final push for U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico in an ad the Democrat dropped this past weekend.
Repurposing the battle cry of “clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose” from the fictional Dillion team of West Texas from the Britton and Kyle Chandler-led five season high school football series, the spot kicks off Talarico’s Lone Star state tour heading towards Election Day on November 3.
Along with the FNL crew (blandly called “Friday Night Leftists” on Laura Ingrahams’ Fox News show Monday) in attendance, don’t blink at 0:56 mark or you may miss Kacey Musgraves giving the candidate a front row greeting.
Tied in the polls with scandal drenched Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Talarico has attracted a galaxy of star power in his bid over the last year to be the first Democrat to hold state office in usually very Red Texas since 1994.
In addition to controversies over non-network aired sit-downs with late-night host Stephen Colbert and more recently Jimmy Kimmel and earning the wrath of Elon Musk, the four-term Texas House of Representatives member has been out in LA repeatedly for a series of big money fundraisers. The soiress have been hosted by seasoned Dem donots like Damon Lindeloff and ex-HBO exec and Obama era Ambassador to Spain James Costos.
Also, Bill Nye the Science Guy has joined the Talarico hayride, and the Chicks welcomed the would-be Senator on stage with them on October 17 in San Antonio.
Still for all the hopes, dreams and big names Talarico is bring to the last weeks before the midterms vote, his MAGA rival Paxton has received constant backing from Donald Trump. Even more important than the former Apprentice host, Paxton is the benifuciary of over $190 million from Musk for his race. With control of the Senate in reach for the Dems and Trump’s polls in the toilet, the race between Paxton and Talarico is not only the most star-studded on the midterms, but (with over $500 million in ad buys alone) the most expensive.
To that, Talarico is in Fort Worth tonight and Tyler, TX on Tuesday as both campaigns head to the finish line next month.
