Prince William Reveals His Secret Stage Name From DJ Career

Prince William once spun himself a new identity. 

The Prince of Wales revealed that he tried his hand at being a DJ in his younger years, even bestowing himself with a different title amid his efforts. 

“I went through a phase where I wanted to be a DJ, which didn’t go very well,” William admitted on the Oct. 23 episode of The Graham Norton Show. “And I came up with a name. I was called ‘DJ Xara’ with an X.”

The 44-year-old admitted “it wasn’t good,” much to the delight of his fellow red coach companions Cate Blanchett, Robert Irwin and Hannah Waddingham. 

“DJ Zara?” Hannah asked. “That’s rubbish.”

Cate, meanwhile, was curious about the spelling, with William noting he put the “X” at the front of “Xara,” while making a crossing motion with his hands. 

“And was that one of your moves?” Cate asked of the gesture, to which William quipped, “No, I didn’t do the move.”

He laughed, “It rapidly became very uncool.”
