Gareth Southgate Strikes Sky Sports Deal For Podcasts, YouTube
Ex-England soccer manager Gareth Southgate has struck a content deal with Sky Sports.
Southgate’s 1071 Media is partnering with Sky Sports on YouTube and podcast content, with Sky Media representing the formats commercially.
Hosted by Match of the Day’s Mark Chapman with Conor Coady, The Football Dugout will be a weekly podcast and YouTube show exploring the tactical side of the game. YouTube’s The Football Boardcast will take fans inside the money, power, and politics that shape the modern game, with hosts Christian Purslow and Henry Winter, while Sky Sports YouTube show The Football Data Room is presented by soccer analysts and will combine data with insight.
Southgate launched 1071 Media recently with Jimmy Worrall and the ex-England soccer manager said its intention is to “combine exciting new concepts with the leading thinkers in sport to educate, inform and entertain fans.”
Southgate is one of the most decorated England managers of all time, having reached the finals of two European Championships plus the semi-final of the recent World Cup in the U.S. He was also a successful player.
