‘The Terminal List’ Franchise Continues At Amazon With ‘Savage Son’

Chris Pratt is returning as Lieutenant Commander James Reece as Amazon plots the latest move in The Terminal List franchise.

The streamer is adapting Jack Carr’s Savage Son as it maps out the future of the military thriller world.

It’s unclear whether Savage Son will be a standalone season, much like prequel The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, or whether it will act as Season 3 of The Terminal List main series, which debuted its first season in 2022 and returned last month with its second season.

Savage Son is the third book in Carr’s series following The Terminal List, which was the basis for Season 1 of the TV series, and True Believer, which was adapted for Season 2, which premiered on October 21

It follows former Navy SEAL sniper James Reece (Pratt) as he faces his most personal and dangerous mission yet. The book is centered on a traitorous CIA officer who has found refuge with the Russian mafia with plans to kill Reece. Meanwhile, Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness of his youth, learning to live again, putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek (Constance Wu) and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper). With an unknown entity inside the U.S. government compromised by Russian intelligence, Reece is forced to recruit a team of former commandos to bring his unique brand of vengeance to the Russian mafia on their home turf, turning the hunters into the hunted.

Savage Son is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRCm and Civic Center Media.

Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios said: “Jack Carr’s work has connected with audiences in a way that speaks to the power of his storytelling and the incredible dedication Chris Pratt and the entire team bring to every episode. The Terminal List franchise continues to resonate and Savage Son takes the story into its most intense chapter yet.”
