Powerful Dem threatens incoming Trump chief of staff Stephen Miller minutes after his appointment

The incoming chairman of the powerful House Oversight Committee vowed to investigate President Trump’s new Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller, when Democrats take officially control of Congress — warning the commander-in-chief’s top adviser to “lawyer up.”

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) declared his plans to probe Miller just minutes after Trump announced Friday afternoon that Susie Wiles was out and Miller was in.

“Just days after the American people rejected his corrupt and lawless presidency, Donald Trump is doubling down,” Garcia said in a statement.

“Stephen Miller is the architect of the unconstitutional ICE raids that have terrorized our communities and kidnapped and killed American citizens and immigrant families.

“Oversight Democrats will continue to investigate Miller for his misconduct, and we will fight against his hateful policies in Congress and the courts.”

Miller should “lawyer up,” the searing statement concluded.
