Q2 Stadium to host 3 CONCACAF Gold Cup matches, 1 includes USMNT

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The United States men’s national soccer team is coming to Austin again for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Gold Cup organizers announced the draw and venues for the group stage of the tournament Friday, and the USMNT is pleased it’ll be at Q2 Stadium for a Group D match.

They’ll take on Saudi Arabia, the tournament’s guest team, at 8:15 p.m. CT, June 19, for their second group match in Austin. The U.S. begins play against Trinidad and Tobago at 3 p.m., June 15, in San Jose, California, and finishes the group stage at 6 p.m., June 22, against Haiti at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The USMNT is undefeated and hasn’t allowed a goal in five matches at Q2 Stadium. The team beat 2023 Gold Cup runners-up Panama 2-0 on Oct. 12, 2024, in Mauricio Pochettino’s first match as manager the last time they played in Austin.

VERDE LIGHTS: It’s back for another season! Tune in at 11 a.m. Saturdays on CW Austin and KXAN throughout the season.

“Overall, I’m excited about the draw,” Pochettino said. “This is an important opportunity for our team, not only to compete for our confederation championship but also to continue to build our understanding of the group and who will be able to help us be successful at the FIFA World Cup next summer.”

Two other group stage matches that include Panama in Group C are set for Q2 Stadium. Panama faces Guatemala at 9 p.m., June 20, and they’ll take on Jamaica at 6 p.m., June 24.
