Tom Thibodeau is out. Now Leon Rose and his Knicks roster can’t avoid the scrutiny

Thanks for the best run in a generation, now there’s the door.

That was Leon Rose to Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday as the team president who famously never explains himself made a move that requires explanation at length and that could define his tenure at the helm of the Knicks, firing Thibodeau days after the Knicks’ season ended with a conference finals loss to the Pacers.

On the heels of not just the best year the Knicks have had since 2000, but their best multiyear run since the mid-90s heyday, the move was shocking.

“Relationship and communication issues surfaced” with Thibodeau, according to The Post’s Stefan Bondy, who reported “multiple Knicks were frustrated with the coach.”
