Craig Robinson Reunites With His ‘The Office’ Co-Stars For AT&T Commercials; Retirement Announcement Was A Prank

So it was a joke. For an ad.

The Office alum Craig Robinson recently announced on Instagram that he was leaving comedy to start a small business, and the announcement was widely taken by media and fans at face value. Deadline bit too. But it seems the small business isn’t exactly what you’d call real.

Turns out, Robinson is only pretending to be a small business owner in what will be a series of AT&T Business commercials that will reunite him with his Office-mates Ellie Kemper, Angela Kinsey, Creed Bratton and Oscar Nuñez.

In the first commercial – watch it above – Robinson pitches his new team of business partners – the old gang – on a new AI alarm clock he calls CrAIg. After some initial confusion over how to pronounce the name, the group agrees to it. The clock features an AI image of Robinson. “The world’s first AI alarm clock, featuring yours truly,” Robinson explains.

According to AT&T Business, the company’s new ad campaign will follow Robinson as he develops his new venture.
