Myrka Dellanos Exits Telemundo’s ‘La Mesa Caliente’ After 3 Years
Myrka Dellanos has exited Telemundo‘s La Mesa Caliente after hosting the talk show for more than three years.
“Myrka Dellanos will no longer be part of Telemundo’s afternoon show, La Mesa Caliente,” a Telemundo spokesperson told Deadline. “Myrka is a highly talented TV personality, known for her professionalism and dedication. We are grateful for her contributions to the show since its premiere, helping position it as one of Spanish-language television’s top talk shows. We wish Myrka continued success in her future projects.”
Dellanos helped launch a daytime talk show where a group of women gather around a table to discuss politics and pop culture, in the same vein as The View. The talk show launched in March 2022 with Dellanos as moderator, alongside Giselle Blondet, Verónica Bastos, and Alix Aspe. Aspe left the show a year later, and a rotation of panelists filled the fourth chair. In August, former Miss Universe Andrea Meza was named as an official co-host alongside Dellanos, Blondet, and Bastos.
At the top of the show on Wednesday, October 8, Blondet addressed Dellanos’s absence from the show after also being removed from the show’s intro.
“I want to tell you that we are going to start with news that hits really close,” Blondet said. “Our colleague Myrka Dellanos will not be part of La Mesa Caliente anymore.”
Blondet finished reading the statement that Telemundo put out about Dellanos’s departure.
Dellanos’s exit came as a surprise to viewers as she had appeared on the show the day before.
La Mesa Caliente was known for its heated political discussions, often led by Dellanos, a staunch Trump supporter who defended conservative ideals and often sparred with her co-hosts. Dellanos is a big name in the Latino community, having hosted Primer Impacto on Univision for many years.
News of Dellanos’s departure comes amid layoffs at Telemundo, which Las Top News reported on today. More names are expected to exit the network as the media landscape continues to evolve.
