Wendy Osefo On Karen Huger’s Future On ‘RHOP’: “Everybody Should Be Given The Opportunity To Have A Platform To Tell Their Own Story”

Wendy Osefo is open to having Karen Huger return to The Real Housewives of Potomac, following her release from jail.

Season 9 of the Bravo reality series premiered, and the absence of Huger is very apparent, having been one of the pillars of the show since its start in 2016.

Huger had been serving time in jail following her DUI conviction and was not able to film for the new season with the rest of the cast. However, the premiere episode showed her release from jail earlier this year, which teased viewers that they would potentially get Huger’s side of the story.

In a recent interview with Deadline, Osefo told us she had not spoken to Huger since her release, but was open to her having a platform to share her side of the story.

“I have not spoken to her since her release,” she said. “However, I feel like everybody should be given the opportunity to have a platform to tell their own story. There’s no point or purpose in your story being told by others.”

Osefo joined RHOP in Season 5 and has since become one of the mainstays of the cast. In our interview with Osefo, she teased that viewers would be able to “delve deeper” into her career changes as well as how she helps her husband with his cannabis business.

“Eddie being able to navigate that naturally puts pressure on our family because we have 3 kids at home and he has to attend different events,” she teased.

She continued, “This season, I get to reconnect with someone from my past and that reconnection not only has an impact on me, but has an impact on others around me, who I love and that’s something that was hard for me. I had to really let go [and] put my guards down around trying to protect my emotions. I’m really looking forward to the audience being able to see the growth I have, both professionally as well as personally.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and is available on-demand the next day on Peacock.
