Comedy Casting Executive Ben Harris Promoted At Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: Ben Harris, who has been overseeing casting for Netflix‘s comedy series for the past three and a half years as Director, Series Casting, Comedy, has been promoted, adding casting oversight of the streamer’s drama series too.

As Director, Drama/Comedy Series Casting, he will have dual report to Netflix’s head of comedy Tracey Pakosta and head of drama Jinny Howe.

Harris has been head of comedy casting at Netflix since the streamer launched an in-house casting department in July 2021.

Before that, he was a casting director with a resume that includes HBO’s Veep, for which he shared an Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series Emmy Award with Allison Jones, as well as HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Eastbound & Down, Avenue 5 and White House Plumbers; Max’s Our Flag Means Death; FX’s What We Do In the Shadows, NBC’s The Office, Fox/NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Netflix’s Space Force.
