Guide: You can do Stealth Knockouts in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 from the

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 has a lot of mechanics that might not be immediately obvious, and while the game goes out of its way to teach you some of them with tutorials and side quests, there are some things you can do from the very start of the game, even before they are fully explained to you.

One such mechanic is the Stealth Knockout, which can be a lifesaver from very early in KCD2, but is only tutorialized properly several hours into the game.

Stealth Takedowns come in handy from very early in the game.

The great news is that you can perform Stealth Knockouts almost immediately after the game begins, even during the siege of Suchdol. In this guide, we’ll explain how to perform a Stealth Knockout in KCD2 before the game’s tutorial does.

How To Perform a Stealth Knockout in KCD2

When you attempt your first stealth attack, an in-game tutorial will appear explaining the mechanics, but here’s what you need to do.

Approach the enemy quietly.

To perform a Stealth Knockout, crouch with C (right-stick click on a controller) and sneak behind an unsuspecting enemy. You can throw a stone with G (RB/R1) to distract them and make it easier to approach them. Get close and press F (LT/L2 on a controller) to initiate a Stealth Attack.

To knock your enemy out, you will have to perform a choke at the right time, when the blue crossed swords icon appears. You do the choke with a left-click on the mouse (RT/R2 on a controller).

The enemy will try to escape the chokehold, so if your timing is not perfect, they will slip out of your hold, alert nearby guards, and attack you.

The window to perform the chokehold is very short, so you must be precise.

If you’re too slow on the first prompt, you will get a last chance to take your enemy down with a Perfect Block, performed with a right-click on the mouse (LT/L2 on a controller). You must time this precisely when the green shield icon appears. If you fail this one, too, the enemy will get away and alert everyone nearby.

If your enemy sees you before or during the Stealth Knockout, they will report you to the guards later when they wake up.

There’s also a Stealth Kill option, but for this one, you will need to get and equip a dagger, so it won’t be available from the start of the game. Until you get the weapon and have it equipped, the option to perform Stealth Kills will be greyed out.
