Trump Links Greenland Threat To Nobel Peace Prize Snub

In a bizarre message to Norway’s Prime Minister, U.S. President Donald Trump has said he “is no longer obliged to think purely of peace” because he wasn’t awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump sent the message to the Norwegian PM amid an ongoing political crisis over the future of Greenland, with POTUS seeking control over the Danish territory. You can read the message below.

Trump has vowed to impose a 10% levy on goods imported from eight European allies of America until a deal is reached over the U.S. purchasing the island.

In his text message to Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump blamed Norway for him not getting the Nobel Peace Prize, despite Støre having previously told Trump that an independent committee decides who gets the accolade, not the Norwegian people.

In other news likely to alarm America’s allies, the Kremlin said today that Trump has invited Vladimir Putin to join Trump’s Board Of Peace, which will oversee the reconstruction of Gaza. Putin’s spokesperson said the Russian President is reviewing the invitation.

You can read Trump’s message to the Norwegian PM — reported on by Reuters, BBC, Bloomberg and other news outlets — in full below.

“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America.

“Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.

“I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”
