Air Force Major Jason Watson hit with military charges after Trump protest

Major Jason Watson, the U.S. airman who was arrested twice while calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, has been criminally charged.
Watson was arrested in July on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, and was placed into pretrial confinement on August 18. On Monday, he was criminally charged for his actions.
According to a report from CNN, which cited a charging document his attorney had shared, Watson faces the following charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice:
- Three violations of Article 88 for alleged “contemptuous” remarks about the president
- Five violations of Article 92 for allegedly disobeying orders
- Two violations of Article 133 for alleged conduct unbecoming an officer
