AirPods Pro 3 Drop to $199 at Costco With AppleCare+: Here’s the Deal
If you’ve been waiting for a better reason to buy AirPods Pro 3, Costco just supplied one: the price has fallen to $199.99, and two years of AppleCare+ are included.
Costco’s promotion cuts $50 from Apple’s $249 list price, bringing the earbuds down by 20%. The offer runs through roughly August 23–24, giving buyers a limited window to pick them up at the lower price.
“AirPods Pro 3 are available for $199.99, including AppleCare+,” Costco states in its current product listing for members.
$199 Bundle Comes With More Than Earbuds
Costco’s listing includes the AirPods Pro 3, a MagSafe charging case with USB-C, speaker and lanyard loop, five sizes of silicone ear tips, and two years of AppleCare+ for headphones. The coverage includes accidental-damage protection for incidents such as drops and spills, battery service, 24/7 priority Apple support and Express Replacement Service.
“AppleCare+ for Headphones provides unlimited incidents of accidental damage from handling,” Apple says, with each incident subject to a service fee and applicable tax.
That last part is important because the headline discount isn’t actually the most valuable piece of this deal.
| Retailer / Buying Method | AirPods Pro 3 Sticker Price | AppleCare+ Cost (2 Years) | Total Effective Out-of-Pocket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Store (MSRP) | $249.00 | $29.00 | $278.00 |
| Standard Retail Sale (Amazon, Best Buy) | $199.99 | $29.00 | $228.99 |
| Costco Promotional Bundle | $199.99 | $0.00 (Included) | $199.99 (Savings: $78.01 off Apple MSRP) |
Free AppleCare+ Is the Real Discount
Buy AirPods Pro 3 at Apple’s regular price and add AppleCare+ separately, and the protection costs extra. AppleCare+ pricing also increased after a July price adjustment.
“AppleCare+ for Headphones extends your coverage to two years from your AppleCare+ purchase date,” Apple says, covering accidental damage and battery service during the coverage period. Costco is effectively folding two years of coverage into the $199.99 purchase price.
For buyers who would have purchased AppleCare+ anyway, that makes the deal substantially better than a simple $50 markdown. You’re getting the earbuds below list price while avoiding a separate warranty expense.
Costco Isn’t the Only Place at $199
There’s one detail worth knowing before you assume this is a Costco-exclusive bargain. Other retailers have previously matched the $199 price during promotional periods.
What sets Costco’s offer apart is the inclusion of two years of AppleCare+ at no additional charge something competing $199 listings don’t consistently provide.
So the selling point isn’t necessarily the lowest possible sticker price. It’s the combination of $199.99 plus two years of coverage.
A Few Costco Rules Could Get in the Way
Costco limits purchases to one transaction per membership, with a maximum of two units every 24 hours. A Costco membership is required for the member price, while non-members may face a surcharge of roughly 5% where non-member purchases are available.
“Limit 2 per membership,” Costco states in the current promotion terms for the AirPods Pro 3 offer.
Availability can also vary between Costco warehouses and Costco.com. If you’re trying to buy before the promotion ends, check the specific listing or your local warehouse rather than assuming both channels have identical inventory and pricing.
Buy Now or Wait for Apple’s Next Move?
If AirPods Pro 3 were already on your shopping list, $199.99 with AppleCare+ included is one of the strongest deals this generation has seen.
“AirPods Pro 3” are listed by Apple at a regular price of $249, with AppleCare+ available separately for additional coverage.
There has been speculation about a possible AirPods refresh later in 2026, but Apple hasn’t confirmed a launch schedule. Waiting therefore means trading a confirmed discount for an unconfirmed future product. For buyers who want the current generation, there’s little reason to overthink it.
AirPods are small, frequently handled and exposed to drops, spills and battery wear in ways larger electronics aren’t. Two years of AppleCare+ therefore has practical value beyond the usual extended-warranty pitch.
At $199.99, Costco isn’t simply making the AirPods Pro 3 cheaper. It’s turning a standard $50 promotion into a bundle where the protection itself becomes a meaningful part of the discount.
