Alexa Swinton, Margarita Levieva & Matthew Lillard Latest To Join Tony Gilroy’s ‘Behemoth!’ At Searchlight
EXCLUSIVE: Andor‘s Tony Gilroy has added three more to the cast of his Searchlight film Behemoth!: Alexa Swinton (Maestro), Margarita Levieva (Task), and Matthew Lillard (Scream 7).
Character details are under wraps, and the film’s logline remains locked down for now, though Gilroy has shared in interviews that the story revolves around a cellist. Pedro Pascal leads a cast that also includes David Harbour, Eva Victor, and Olivia Wilde.
Gilroy is directing from his own script and producing the film alongside Sanne Wohlenberg and John Gilroy (Andor). SVP of Production Rayne Roberts and Creative Executive Cameron Chidsey are overseeing on behalf of Searchlight Pictures, reporting to Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas. Production launched in Los Angeles late last month.
Swinton broke out playing Rose Goldenblatt — the daughter of Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler) — in HBO’s Sex and the City, recently reprising the role in sequel series And Just Like That…, which ran for three seasons. She also had a major role in Showtime’s Billions and has been seen in films including Marvel’s Thunderbolts*, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, and M. Night Shyamalan’s Old. She is repped by Osbrink Talent Agency, Brookside Artist Management, and attorney James Feldman.
Most recently, Levieva has been seen in HBO’s critically lauded crime drama miniseries Task from Mare of Easttown‘s Brad Ingelsby, starring alongside Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey. She stars in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again, which premieres its second season in March, and will also be seen in the upcoming Cape Fear series at Apple TV. She is repped by Paradigm, Strand Entertainment, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
Like Levieva, Lillard will appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, though he joins as a new cast member. The actor has a packed slate with upcoming projects including Scream 7, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Amazo’s Carrie miniseries, and Season 2 of the streamer’s crime thriller Cross. He is repped by Verve, Strand Entertainment, and Wendy Heller Law.
