Apple Will End October With One More Thing It Can’t Wait to ‘Pro and Tell’

Just when you think Apple will slow down after two major launches, Steve Jobs’ iconic words come to mind: “One more thing.” Apple is instead ending October with what may be its most consequential hardware event of the year. The company confirmed an in-person product launch themed “Pro and Tell” scheduled for Oct. 28 in Los Angeles.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, set off a wave of anticipation when he posted on X with a brief but pointed tease: “Can’t wait to pro and tell next week.” The phrasing, a play on the childhood classroom exercise “show and tell,” signals the company’s confidence in what it plans to put on stage.

What to Expect on Oct. 28?

At the center of expectations for Oct. 28 is the MacBook Pro. Multiple sources report that Apple will introduce the first MacBook Pro model to feature a touchscreen, paired with an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display.

The MacBook Pro line, Apple’s flagship professional laptop series, has never before shipped with touch input on its screen. The move would bring it closer to the input model used by competing Windows-based laptops, a design direction Apple resisted publicly for years.

The OLED panel upgrade is itself significant. Current MacBook Pro models use liquid crystal display (LCD) technology marketed under Apple’s “Liquid Retina XDR” branding. OLED screens offer higher contrast ratios, deeper blacks, and lower power consumption in dark-content scenarios, advantages that professional video editors and photographers have long sought in Apple’s laptop hardware.

Beyond the MacBook Pro, Apple is expected to introduce a revamped iPad mini featuring an OLED display. A refreshed iMac is also anticipated as part of the Oct. 28 lineup. Together, the three product categories span Apple’s laptop, desktop, and tablet segments, making the “Pro and Tell” event unusually broad in scope for a single keynote.

John Ternus’s Fast-Moving Product Cadence

The Oct. 28 event is the third product launch Apple has held under John Ternus, the company’s relatively new chief executive, in 2026 alone. That pace marks a visible departure from the measured, annually spaced release rhythm that defined Apple for much of the past two decades.

Ternus, who built his career inside Apple’s hardware engineering division before ascending to the top role, has not made public statements specifically addressing the accelerated cadence. The pattern in the product calendar, however, is consistent across all three events this year.

The event also arrives as Apple’s second October launch, following a separate event held earlier in the month. Staging two hardware events within a single calendar month is rare for Apple and underscores the breadth of the product lineup Ternus is shepherding through development.
