Back-to-School Tax-Free Weekends 2026: Complete State-by-State Schedule
Schools in the United States will reopen in a month or two, and young shoppers have started filling their carts with back-to-school supplies. With rising inflation and rising product prices, a major challenge for every parent with a school-going child is finding ways to spend less while buying all necessary school supplies.
Back-to-school tax-free weekends help financially struggling families maintain their monthly budget to some extent. Several states, including Florida and Maryland, have already announced the dates for their tax-free weekends.
In Florida, the back-to-school tax-free holidays for school supplies will run for a month from July 20 to August 20. The state has offered tax exceptions for bags, wallets, personal computers, computer-related accessories, clothing, accessories, footwear, jigsaw puzzles, learning aids, and school supplies.
Maryland has also announced a tax-free weekend for school supplies in August. It will begin on Sunday, August 9, and end on Saturday, August 15. School supplies, electronics, clothing, footwear, and athletic equipment are included in this year’s tax-free weekend.
