Caitlin Clark sidelined with Fever announcing shock injury
Caitlin Clark has suffered the first worrying injury of her WNBA career.
The Indiana Fever announced on Monday that Clark would be out at least two weeks with a quadriceps strain.
The news comes as a surprise as Clark got through Saturday’s controversial 90-88 loss to the Liberty seemingly uninjured.
Clark was involved in the game’s final play as she was stripped of the ball while driving to the basket on what the Fever thought was a foul.
“I thought she got fouled,” Fever coach Stephanie White said afterward. “I think it’s pretty egregious what’s been happening to us the last few games: A minus-31 free-throw discrepancy. And I might be able to understand it if we were just chucking 3s. But we’re not. We’re attacking the rim.”
The Fever are 2-2 in the early season.
