(Re: ‘DEI a goner,’ Sun, Oct. 28) So, (Premier Danielle) Smith and (Justice Minister Mickey) Amery are now against diversity. Funny, the hypocritical UCP were OK with it in the ‘Stand Up for A Stronger Alberta’ ad, which played nonstop during the referendum. It featured one man in a wheelchair, two men of colour, two women of colour, two children of colour, one white man, one white woman and one cow! Bill 33 is another nonsensical UCP solution looking for a non-existent problem. I’m with the CFL, who state Diversity is Our Strength.

This is not normal
Donald Trump has broken almost every norm. Now corruption and cronyism with Putin and the Russians is becoming, unfortunately, normalized. Should there not be a much larger outcry that this is happening? I fear what havoc is to come in the next two years. Ukraine deserves much better, as Musk, Trump and the entire U.S. government toy with them. I hope outrage is maintained, so we don’t forget who we are. He will be gone hopefully sooner than later.

Troubling news
(Re: ‘Food banks doing heroic work,’ Dr. Sylvain Charlebois, Oct. 24) 31%of food bank clients have been in Canada less than 10 years. Does this mean 69%have been here longer than 10 years? People new to the country generally have problems adjusting, and I’m not surprised many will have to use the food banks temporarily, but the 69% usage by long-term residents is troubling.
