Court to review Round Rock Juneteenth shooting case
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A Williamson County District Court will be reviewing the case of an 18-year-old man involved in a shooting that happened during a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock last June at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Keshawn Dixon was charged with two counts of murder and 13 counts of aggravated assault in the shooting that happened at Old Settlers Park on June 15, 2024, according to the Round Rock Police Department (RRPD). RRPD said the victims were innocent bystanders.
Investigators believe the shooting happened as part of an ongoing feud between two “rap groups,” according to court documents.
Dixon has been in custody at the Williamson County Jail since.
An affidavit noted Dixon has been arrested before on multiple violent offenses, including robbery, terroristic threat, assault and evading arrest. Dixon is also a “documented gang member,” according to RRPD.
Two other suspects were also arrested related to this shooting — one being an unnamed juvenile and the other being 17-year-old Rocky Thomas III.
Tuesday’s events of the court reviewing Dixon’s case are called an announcement docket. During an announcement docket, the court reviews the current status of the case and may set dates for future hearings, motions or the trial itself.
