Crews respond to structure fire on Blackson Avenue

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department responded to a structure fire in central Austin that is near Interstate 35.

AFD said on social media it responded to the 700 block of Blackson Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.

Crews arrived on the scene to find “50% of the structure involved,” according to AFD.

The fire department said the 7400 block of I-35 service road is shut down. Drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
