Dakota Johnson Says People Speculating About Her Romantic Relationships Need to “Get a Life”

Dakota Johnson is tired of people all up in her social network.

After the Fifty Shades of Grey alum was seen on a stroll with Machine Gun Kelly nearly one month after multiple outlets reported her breakup from Role Model, she shared insight into why she doesn’t care to set the record straight on her love life. 

“Even if I go to dinner with my manager or my lawyer, it’s like, ‘Seen with mystery man.’ I also don’t care,” Johnson said on the Sept. 25 episode of Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast, stressing that she’s not interested in correcting false narratives about her personal life. “I think it’s just futile.”

“People are gonna believe what they wanna believe, and I don’t have the energy to fight for that,” she added. “I would much rather focus on other things in my life. Every day, there’s something on the internet that’s ridiculous and true or not true, and I don’t care.”

Rather, she encouraged those who take a particular interest in her relationships to “get a life.”

And as the rumor mill continues to circulate, the 36-year-old wants no part in it, revealing she’s taking an intentional step back from social media.
