Did Paul Walker’s Daughter Sell His ‘Furious 7’ Car? Meadow Walker Sets the Record Straight

Meadow Walker didn’t have to sell her father’s car to end up correcting a rumor about it this week. A story claiming she’d auctioned off Paul Walker’s 1998 Toyota Supra, the car his character drove in “Furious 7,” spread online, and both Meadow and her father’s estate stepped in fairly quickly to knock it down.

What Meadow Said

Meadow addressed it herself first, posting to her Instagram Stories on Thursday. “It’s been brought to my attention that there are false reports online,” she wrote. “I did NOT sell nor auction my father’s 1998 Toyota Supra from ‘Furious 7.'” She added that the car is currently on view at the Petersen Automotive Museum, where fans can still see it in person.

The Estate Backs Her Up

A day later, Paul Walker’s official Instagram account, still managed by his family’s team, posted a statement of its own that echoed Meadow’s almost word for word. “We would like to set the record straight regarding the false reports online,” it read. “[Meadow Walker] did NOT sell nor auction Paul’s 1998 Toyota Supra from Furious 7.” The post went further, specifying that the car “remains under Meadow’s ownership as part of her collection.”

Where the Car Actually Is

Rather than changing hands, the Supra is on loan to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, part of its “A Fast & Furious Legacy” exhibit marking the franchise’s 25th anniversary. The exhibit is scheduled to run through April 2027. It’s worth being precise about which car this is, too: it’s the Mk4-generation Supra used in “Furious 7,” a different vehicle from the orange 1993 Supra Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, drove in the original 2001 film. Both cars are reportedly part of the same museum display, alongside other vehicles from across the franchise.

Why the Rumor Took Hold

It’s a little unclear exactly where the false claim originated, but it appears to have picked up steam through comments piling up under unrelated posts, eventually snowballing into something widely repeated before anyone directly involved had actually said anything. It’s a familiar pattern online: a car goes on public display somewhere, and somewhere along the way, “on loan” gets misread as “sold.”

A Car Tied to a Difficult Chapter

The Supra carries particular weight because of when it was filmed. Walker died in a car crash in November 2013, at 40, while “Furious 7” was still in production. The film’s crew, with help from Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody standing in for him on camera and digital effects filling in the rest, finished his character’s arc so the franchise could send Brian O’Conner off properly rather than write him out abruptly.

Meadow, 27, is Walker’s only child, from his relationship with Rebecca Soteros. She’s spoken publicly in the past about staying connected to her father’s memory, including marking the anniversary of his death each year on social media.
