Dylan Larkin Loudly Booed by Red Wings Fans Amid Trade Request Drama

The Detroit Red Wings lost their season opener to the New York Rangers by a 2-0 final score on Friday night.

Overall, it was certainly not the way that the Red Wings wanted to start their campaign. This is especially so with all of the drama surrounding the organization with the ongoing Dylan Larkin trade request.

While Larkin did not play in the Red Wings’ season opener due to injury, he was still the biggest talking point from the game.

With Friday’s game against the Rangers being the Red Wings’ home opener, the Original Six club introduced their players before the game. When it got to Larkin’s turn, Red Wings fans booed him incredibly loudly.

Larkin still waved to the fans while being booed before walking away.

With Larkin requesting a trade during the offseason, it is not surprising to see him be greeted in this way by the Red Wings fans. They are understandably upset with their former captain for wanting out of Detroit.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Red Wings will end up trading Larkin at some point this season. At this point, moving on from one another would be for the best for both sides. He would be a good addition for any other NHL club.
