‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ EP Matthew Wright’s Cause Of Death Revealed
A cause of death has been determined for Matthew Wright after he died at age 52 last Friday.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show executive producer’s death certificate lists cardiopulmonary arrest as the cause, with hypertension as the underlying cause and contributing conditions including obstructive sleep apnea and class II obesity, according to People.
Wright’s family announced in a GoFundMe that he “died suddenly but peacefully in his sleep” in what they described as “an unfathomable tragedy” while working remotely in Los Angeles.
DeGeneres mourned Wright’s death in a statement, stating: “He was an amazing guy. He was funny. God, he made me laugh. He would surprise me with things that he did all the time. He was smart. He was kind. He was the part of our show that — I mean, everyone loved him. I loved him.
“And it’s just shocking — it’s shocking,” she added. “We’re gonna miss him. He is and always will be the glue to our entire family at The Ellen Show.”
