Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham go viral for what they did at World Cup match
England and Norway met in the quarterfinal of the 2026 FIFA men’s World Cup in Miami on Saturday, July 11. The Three Lions are trying to prove “it’s coming home” true and win England’s first World Cup since 1966. Norway is in its first men’s World Cup since 1998 and has already gone deeper than ever before.
That’s all fine and well.
The main storyline has been the reunion between England’s Jude Bellingham, 23, and Norway’s Erling Haaland, 25, former Borussia Dortmund teammates. Bellingham and Haaland have each had a sensational World Cup, but the internet only cares about what the BBC designated as “football’s best bromance.”
Even pop star Reneé Rapp can’t get enough of it.
Bellingham and Haaland just gave their new fans more material to squeal over.
Before the match, FOX cameras caught Bellingham lightly kicking Haaland in the bum to get his attention for a quick embrace before they became enemies for the ensuing 90 minutes:
But even in the throes of the most intense competition, Bellingham and Haaland couldn’t hate each other. During a free kick for England in the first half, they were giggling at each other while jostling for position:
Dortmund played into the frenzy earlier Saturday, posting a compilation of Bellingham-Haaland clips and writing, “The bromance takes the pitch tomorrow.”
Bellingham and Haaland were Dortmund teammates for two seasons from 2020 to 2022. Haaland departed for Manchester City in May 2022, and Bellingham moved to Real Madrid in June 2023. Each became bona fide superstars at their respective new clubs. If possible, their star power will be even more potent after this World Cup.
