Former Bruins Donovan Dent, Skyy Clark reunite at LSU
Two former Bruins are reuniting on LSU men’s basketball team this season.
Both Donovan Dent and Skyy Clark were part of a group of 25 NCAA athletes who filed a lawsuit in California against the NCAA to be granted a fifth year of eligibility for the 2026-27 season. Clark announced his commitment to LSU earlier this month on Aug. 12, then Dent announced on social media on Friday that he was also joining LSU.
Dent and Clark played one season together at UCLA, helping the Bruins reach the Big Ten tournament semifinals and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Dent Initially Planned to Retire From Basketball
After the NCAA Tournament, Dent announced he was retiring from basketball. In May, he said he had no plans of pursuing a professional career and instead would become a youth basketball personal trainer in New Mexico.
The announcement came after Dent did not receive an invitation to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. He also played three seasons of his collegiate career with New Mexico before joining UCLA for the 2025-26 season.
But now, Dent is back on a college basketball roster and will join LSU head coach Will Wade as he returns to the Tigers program after previously coaching the team from 2017 to 2022.
