Fox News Announces Maria Bartiromo’s Abrupt Departure After 12 Years

Maria Bartiromo is headed off air. 

After more than a decade as an anchor on Fox Business, parent company Fox Media confirmed she had departed the network on Sept. 3.

“Effective today, Maria Bartiromo is no longer with FOX News Media,” the company said in a statement shared online. “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 1/2 years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”

The statement did not supply a reason for the change, but it noted that the final episode of Bartiromo’s daytime series Mornings With Maria had aired that morning, and that her Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures, will be hosted by Jason Chaffetz this week with a permanent replacement announced at a later date. 

Her third series, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, which airs on Fridays will be shifting to FBN’s Wall Street. The series will be hosted this week by Cheryl Casone and will have rotating anchors in the coming weeks, the network said in its news release.

E! News reached out to an agent for Bartiromo for comment but has not yet heard back. 

So far, the 58-year-old has yet to comment publicly on her departure.
