Gabe Delahaye Spec I’d Like to Speak to Your Manager Sells To FilmNation
EXCLUSIVE: In a highly competitive situation, FilmNation has acquired I’d Like to Speak to Your Manager, an absurdist action-thriller spec from Gabe Delahaye, for feature development.
No word yet on the film’s plot. Fortunate Jack will join FilmNation in producing.
Delahaye is a writer whose feature career has quickly gained momentum following the sale of his action-comedy screenplay Uncle Wick to Amazon Studios after a competitive bidding war. Since then, he has sold original projects to major studios and streamers, including Amazon and Apple, and has worked on high-profile projects for Sony, Universal, 20th Century Studios. On the television side, Delahaye was a writer and producer on The Great North and is currently developing the animated series Oh Goody with Ryan Quincy for Fox Television Animation.
Prior to his screenwriting career, Delahaye was widely read as a culture writer and reporter. He is represented by UTA, Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment, and Gregg Gellman at Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
Along with Annapurna Pictures and Permut Presentations, FilmNation is behind Olivia Wilde’s buzzy comedy The Invite, which landed at A24 in a bidding war out of Sundance and is slated for release on June 26. They’re also behind Adam Carter Rehmeier’s crime thriller Carolina Caroline, starring Samara Weaving and Kyle Gallner, which Magnolia Pictures releases tomorrow, June 5.
