Grimes begs Elon Musk to respond to their child’s urgent medical crisis

Grimes, the Canadian singer and ex of Elon Musk has shared a public plea on social media, as she claims that Musk is ignoring a current medical crisis pertaining to one of the three children they share.

Newsweek has reached out to Musk via X email for comment.

Why It Matters

Musk, CEO of X, formerly Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX, has become an ever-growing presence in U.S. and global politics. Musk, who has a net worth of $436.8 billion, has been appointed by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and has been a staunch ally of Trump’s.

What To Know

In posts on X that have now been deleted, Grimes wrote: “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.

“If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.”

In another post, Grimes wrote: “I’m not giving any details but he won’t respond to texts call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn’t respond asap, so I need him to f****** respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that’s where we are at.”

Grimes then followed up these posts saying that she was deleting them, writing: “If they’re being shadow banned and not eliciting a response then all it is is a media circus at the expense of the kids.”

Throughout the posts, Grimes did not identify which of her children she was referring to. She shares three children with the tech billionaire. Their first, X Æ A-Xii (pronounced “X Ash A Twelve”), was born in May 2020. In December 2021, they welcomed a daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, known as “Y,” via surrogate. Their third child, Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed “Tau,” was born in 2022.

Who Is Elon Musk’s ex Grimes?

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter. She gained widespread recognition with her 2012 album Visions, which featured hits like Oblivion and Genesis.”

She and Musk began dating in 2018. It was reported in September of 2021 that the two had “semi-separated.” They later split for good, and public disputes over the custody of their children have followed, with Grimes filing legal action and seeking parental rights in 2023, as per NBC News.

In 2024, she spoke publicly about the custody battle and alleged that she went five months without seeing one of her and Musk’s three children thanks to “a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers rights.”

Recently, Grimes has publicly voiced her criticism over parenting decisions made by Musk, regarding their son son X Æ A-Xii.

On Tuesday, February 11, X Æ, 4, accompanied his billionaire father to the White House and was present during a recorded conference in the Oval Office with Trump.

“He should not be in public like this,” the singer-songwriter posted on X, referring to her child.

How Many Children does Elon Musk Have?

Musk has 12 confirmed children with three different women, Justine Wilson, Grimes and Shivon Zilis.

On February 14, the Conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair announced on social media that she had a baby with Elon Musk five months ago. Musk has not responded directly to St. Clair’s allegation that he’s the father of her baby and St. Clair is urging him to “publicly acknowledge his parental role.”

What People Are Saying

Art Candee on X: “Elon Musk is apparently dodging Grimes’ calls during a medical emergency of one of their kids. He’s such trash.”

One social media user, defending Musk, responded: “It happens, and it is trashy to pass judgement about this.”
