As the fifth pillar of Islam, it is mandatory for all adult Muslims to perform this religious duty at least once in their lifetime. People who are physically and financially incapable of this journey are exempt from this religious duty. According to media reports, around two million Muslims are expected to gather at the holy pilgrimage, while many individuals will follow the rituals from their homes.
Many Muslims from diverse regions stay connected to Mecca to keep up with the live proceedings and support their loved ones. Several people find it challenging to be spiritually soaked in blessings through live telecast due to time zone differences and changing telecast links. Here is a complete guide on Hajj 2026, featuring official livestream channels, apps, and key ritual dates.

The religious duty is performed every year in the last month of the Islamic calendar, Dhul Hijjah. It takes place over five to six days between the 8th and the 13th day of the Islamic month. During this time, adult Muslims perform several rituals and rites at the holy mosque, Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Key Ritual Dates
- Monday (May 25) – Pilgrims enter Mecca in white modest attire and circle the Kaaba ( a cubic building at the Masjid al-Haram) seven times in a counterclockwise direction. Pilgrims then walk between the hills of Marwa and Safa seven times before entering Mina.
- Tuesday (May 26) – After spending the night at Mina, pilgrims reach the plains of Mount Arafat. They spend the day praying and repenting. Pilgrims stay at Muzdalifah on the second night and collect pebbles for the third day’s ritual.
- Wednesday (May 27) – Pilgrims walk back to Mina and throw pebbles at stone pillars. They throw seven pebbles at the three largest pillars before offering animal sacrifice. Men shave or trim their heads while women cut a small portion of their hair. Pilgrims then return to Mecca and circle the Kaaba seven times.
