Hasan Piker reacts to RNC showing NSFW photo of him
Hasan Piker reacted with disbelief after a photograph of the left-wing political streamer in his underwear appeared on giant screens at the Republican National Committee’s midterm convention.
“What the f***?” Piker said as he watched footage from the event during a livestream. “What the f*** is this?”
“Nooo!” he said laughing. “They f**king posted the meat pic! Nooo! Yo! They posted the meat pic at the f**king Trumpapalooza!”
The photograph appeared briefly in a video shown during the opening day of the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas on Wednesday. Footage from inside the arena showed the image displayed behind the stage.
The unusual cameo came as Republicans increasingly seek to portray Piker, a self-described socialist with a large online following, as representative of the Democratic Party’s left flank ahead of November’s midterm elections.
The Dallas gathering is a two-day “special ceremonial convention,” rather than a presidential nominating convention. According to the RNC, it was organized to celebrate President Donald Trump’s accomplishments and rally Republicans around a shared vision before the midterms. Official documentation specifies that delegates cannot conduct formal party business, adopt resolutions or hold elections during the event.
Newsweek has contacted the Republican National Committee and representatives for Piker, via email outside of normal working hours, for comment.
