Hayden Panettiere’s daughter Kaya, 11, appears in court with dad Wladimir Klitschko over late star’s estate
Hayden Panettiere’s 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, made an appearance in court Thursday alongside her dad, Wladimir Klitschko.
Kaya appeared remotely to confirm her identity during a hearing about guardianship over the late actress’ estate, People reported. Kaya, wearing a white t-shirt, was on camera and spoke to the judge alongside her father.
She was “soft-spoken and composed” in court, per the outlet.
Klitschko was granted temporary guardianship of his ex-fiancée’s estate during Thursday’s hearing, People also reported. In addition, his attorney requested he have the power to request law enforcement to investigate the “recovery of property believed to be misappropriated” by a non-family member.
On Tuesday, Klitschko, 50, filed court docs to request a law enforcement investigation into his claims that Panettiere’s belongings were pawned after her death.
He said he believes “a non-family member previously connected to” the “Heroes” actress pawned some of her possessions— including jewelry — according to the docs obtained by TMZ.
The former professional boxer claimed the pawn shop refused to provide details about the items unless contacted by law enforcement, adding that he feared they would be sold to third parties without authorities’ involvement.
In court docs he filed last month obtained by Page Six, Klitschko wrote that Kaya — who lives with him in Ukraine — “is entitled to the entirety” of her mom’s assets, adding that it was “urgent and essential” that he be appointed guardianship of Panettiere’s estate so he “may receive, manage and hold” Kaya’s assets on her behalf.
Sources close to Panettiere’s family told TMZ they support the filing, saying, “Wlad is a great father, and we are grateful.”
Panettere and Klitschko started dating in 2009, and got engaged in 2013. They welcomed Kaya in December 2014.
The two continued to date on and off but split for good in 2018. He was awarded full custody of Kaya that same year.
In September 2022, Panetierre appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” and said that signing the papers to give Klitschko full custody of Kaya was “very upsetting.”
She also called the moment “the worst” and “most heartbreaking thing” she has ever had to do.
The “Nashville” alum died in August of an accidental overdose. She was 36 years old.
She died as a result of the toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed to Page Six last month.
