‘High Potential’ Season 3 release date: When is ‘High Potential’ coming back for Season 3?

It’s a night of returns on ABC! First up, 16 new celebrities shake, shake, shake their booties on an all-new season of Dancing with the Stars.

Returning hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will be joined by a slew of exciting contestants, including Summer House standout Ciara Miller, breakout star of The Traitors Maura Higgins, musician Taylor Hanson, former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Tatyana Ali, and Julia Stiles (10 Things I Hate About You, Save the Last Dance).

The two-hour season premiere will feature the male celebrities performing, followed by the female dancers taking center stage on Wednesday night (September 16). Tonight’s episode will be followed by the second season premiere of Scott Speedman’s crime drama R.J. Decker. Can’t watch live? Both shows will be available for next-day streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

That leads us to another Tuesday night staple, High Potential. The Kaitlin Olson-led charmer aired its Season 2 finale in April 2026, so when can we expect Season 3 to start? Here’s everything you need to know.

Is High Potential Airing a New Episode Tonight (September 15)?

Nope. ABC is airing the season premieres of Dancing with the Stars and RJ Decker from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET.

Will High Potential Be Back For Season 3?

Yes! Back in March, ABC renewed High Potential for a third season. It was also revealed that the popular series would have new showrunners, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (Poker Face), with Todd Harthan leaving to work on a live-action adaptation of the YA book series The Inheritance Cycle.

High Potential Season 3 Release Date Info:

Sadly, High Potential won’t be airing new episodes during the fall season.

It was announced at the Disney Upfront event that three ABC favorites, High Potential, Will Trent, and The Rookie, will all be held for midseason premieres, which means that all three shows won’t be back with new episodes until 2027.

Official release dates have yet to be announced, but all three programs will likely return in early January on ABC, with High Potential and Will Trent probably anchoring Tuesday nights and The Rookie and The Rookie: North going back-to-back on Mondays.

Will Steve Howey Return For High Potential Season 3?

After the events of the season finale, it was announced that Steve Howey would not be returning as a series regular for Season 3. Deadline reports that Howey could potentially be back as a “guest star at the start of next season to wrap his character’s arc.”

Where To Watch High Potential Seasons 1 and 2:

Every episode of High Potential is streaming on Hulu and Disney+. Season 2 episodes are also available on ABC.com.

If you’re new to Hulu, the basic (with ads) price is $11.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.
