Holt McCallany Boards ‘Paradise: Disturbed’ Alongside Lily Donoghue and Zak Steiner

EXCLUSIVE: Mindhunter and The Iron Claw star Holt McCallany has signed on to lead the upcoming feature Paradise: Disturbed, joined by Lily Donoghue (The Summer I Turned Pretty) and Zak Steiner (Euphoria). James Khanlarian is set to direct the film for Khanlarian Entertainment. Khanlarian wrote the screenplay with Peter A. Couture.

Currently in production in Savannah, Georgia, the film is based on the novel of the same name by James Robert Fuller. “When a series of ritualistic murders begins targeting a tight-knit golf group, retired OSI investigator Ron Lee (McCallany) is forced to confront a brilliant and taunting killer—while his partner Tim Pond (Steiner) fights to keep him from unraveling,” the story’s summary reads.

Producers on the project are Peter A. Couture, April Aguilera, and Larry Mortorff, with casting by Jonathan Clay Harris, who also serves as executive producer.

The ensemble cast also includes Pat Healy, D.W. Moffett, Xander Berkeley, Cat Kaylin, Mary Pumper, Nadia Gray, and Sara Yigin.

McCallany is known for his role as FBI agent Bill Tench in David Fincher’s Netflix series Mindhunter, which became a hit series for the streamer. He was most recently seen starring opposite Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White in A24’s The Iron Claw, portraying wrestling patriarch Fritz Von Erich. McCallany’s film credits also include appearances in David Fincher’s Fight Club and Alien 3, Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley, and Lights Out for Warner Bros.

McCallany is represented by Buchwald and Atlas Artists. Donoghue is represented by IAG and Untitled Entertainment. Steiner and Healy are represented by Gersh and Luber Roklin. Khanlarian is represented by Barry Krost Management.
