HYBE Takes Weverse Con Festival Overseas for the First Time, India to Host Debut Edition in 2027
HYBE is taking its flagship music festival Weverse Con Festival outside South Korea for the first time, with India selected as the destination for its international debut.
The company announced Thursday, Oct. 8, that Weverse Con Festival India will take place on March 27 and 28, 2027, in New Delhi, marking a major expansion of the festival and HYBE’s efforts to connect K-pop more closely with audiences in India.
Unlike a touring extension of the Korean event, the India edition will operate separately from the original Korean festival. The two-day event is expected to bring together K-pop artists and Indian musicians while creating a festival environment built around the fan cultures of both countries.
India Becomes the Festival’s First International Stop
Since its launch in 2023, Weverse Con Festival has been held in South Korea, gradually expanding its lineup and musical scope. The festival has featured artists from different generations and genres, ranging from emerging K-pop acts to established names, while also opening its stage to J-pop artists and indie bands.
The festival began with 20 participating teams in its first year. By 2026, that number had grown to 30 teams, accompanied by additional stages and expanded programming.
The move to India represents the festival’s biggest geographical expansion yet. Rather than simply reproducing the Korean edition, HYBE says the New Delhi event will be designed around the musical and cultural landscape of its new host country.
K-Pop Meets India’s Music Scene
Weverse Con Festival India is expected to feature major K-pop artists with international followings alongside leading names from India’s music industry. The combination is intended to create a cross-cultural festival experience rather than an event focused exclusively on Korean music.
The programming will also extend beyond the main performances. HYBE plans to introduce fan participation activities and other programs that allow visitors to engage directly with K-pop culture.
That approach reflects the wider Weverse Con Festival format, where the audience experience has increasingly become part of the event itself. For the India edition, HYBE is looking to combine that model with the distinctive ways Indian fans engage with music and artists.
The festival will therefore give attendees opportunities to participate in the event rather than simply watch performances from the audience.
HYBE INDIA Expands Its Local Presence
The announcement also comes as HYBE continues to strengthen its operations in India. HYBE INDIA was established as a local corporation in 2025, and the company has since pursued several initiatives aimed at developing relationships with Indian fans and discovering local talent.
Among its activities have been auditions conducted across 23 cities in and outside India, as well as fan experience events designed to bring HYBE and its artists closer to the local audience.
The launch of Weverse Con Festival India now adds a much larger-scale music event to those efforts, positioning India as an important market in HYBE’s global strategy.
HYBE Highlights Its “Multi-home, Multi-genre” Strategy
A HYBE representative described the India festival as an extension of the company’s broader approach to international expansion.
The representative said, “‘Weverse Con Festival India’ will be a place where HYBE’s ‘Multi-home, Multi-genre’ strategy, which has pursued the fusion and synergy of local culture and K-pop culture, comes to life, and a festival for the Indian fans who have supported K-pop and our artists.”
The representative added that HYBE intends to use its global capabilities to deliver a range of fan experiences alongside high-quality performances.
For Indian K-pop fans, the March 2027 event could therefore mark a significant shift in how large-scale Korean music festivals are experienced in the country. With India becoming the first destination outside Korea for Weverse Con Festival, HYBE is not only taking an established festival format to a new market but also attempting to build a new version of the event around local music, culture and fandom.
With the festival scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2027, further details about the participating artists and programming are expected to shape what could become one of India’s most significant K-pop-focused live music events.
