Is Nancy Guthrie Dead? Savannah Guthrie Compliments Mom’s Kidnapper in Cryptic New Video as She Resigns to Her Fate

Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie paid a compliment to her mom Nancy’s kidnapper, saying: “I know you have tried to do things the right way.” In a video posted to social media on Monday, Savannah pleaded for her mom’s safe return, six months after she was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1.

“I am coming on today with a very specific message,” Guthrie said. “It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about or situation has changed. We have done our part. We will never stop looking for her.”

Savannah’s Desperate Plea

“We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts. The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place. And I know you have tried to do things the right way,” Guthrie added.

“So I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her.

“I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end,’ Guthrie pleaded.

“For all of us, no matter where we’ve been and what we have done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”

Guthrie struck a different tone during an emotional appearance on the Today show late last month after parts of a ransom note the family received in February were made public. One of the notes claimed her mother had died.

“We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay,” Guthrie said at the time.

Looking for Solace

She also reminded viewers that while the case may be “a new story today that is on your radar,” it has been her family’s daily reality. “This is the life that my sister lives, I live, my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day,” she said.

Guthrie added that her family “cannot be at peace, no matter how much I try to come out here every day and smile and find that joy” while the investigation remains unresolved.

“And so please, if you’re watching, no matter how small the reward is there, you can tell us. It can be anonymous. Please do the right thing for us, for our family, for our children,” she pleaded.

The note, which investigators believe may be authentic, claimed that Nancy died of heart failure shortly after she was abducted.

Savannah has admitted that her mother may no longer be alive, but said she is still desperate to bring Nancy home so she can be given a Christian burial.
