Isla Fisher’s Dating ‘Ick’ Goes Viral After Sacha Baron Cohen Divorce
Isla Fisher has revealed the bizarre dating moment that made her lose interest in a man and her blunt confession is now drawing attention online.
The Wedding Crashers actress, 50, shared the story during a recent appearance on Overheard Happy Hour with her Spa Weekend co-stars Leslie Mann, Anna Faris and Michelle Buteau.
Fisher said she had been interested in a man until she watched him chase after his runaway dog in a way she found deeply unattractive.
Isla Fisher Explains Her Dating ‘Ick’
Fisher said she had developed an interest in the unnamed man before witnessing the incident.
“I have a dating ick that happened recently,” she said. “I liked somebody. His dog ran away and he chased his dog, but instead of, like, chasing upright [with his chest], he ran low with his hands outstretched. Like a cartoon.”
Rather than finding the moment endearing, Fisher said her attraction steadily disappeared.
“And the ick was growing and growing,” she said, before delivering the punchline: “By the time he caught the dog, he had lost the p—y.”
The exchange turned into a comedy bit when Faris immediately reenacted the man’s hunched-over, arms-outstretched running style. Fisher and her co-stars laughed at the performance, with Fisher responding, “Why am I in love.”
The clip was shared by Overheard Happy Hour on social media and has since fueled renewed interest in Fisher’s personal life.
Isla Fisher About Life After Divorce
The dating revelation comes more than a year after Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen finalized their divorce.
The former couple announced in April 2024 that they had jointly filed to end their marriage in 2023.
They had been together for more than two decades and married in 2010.
Their divorce was officially finalized on June 13, 2025.
In their statement confirming the divorce, Fisher and Cohen said they remained friends and were committed to co-parenting their three children, while asking for privacy for their family.
Fisher has since spoken more openly about rebuilding her life. In March 2026, she told PEOPLE that being divorced had felt “so freeing” and “so liberating,” describing her new chapter as an opportunity to feel able to do things on her own terms.
She has also credited her friendships with women for helping her rediscover her strength after the breakup. “My female friendships have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength,” Fisher told E! News while promoting Spa Weekend.
Fisher’s Dating Confession
The appeal of Fisher’s revelation is less about a new romance than the unusually specific reason she gave for losing attraction.
Rather than pointing to a conventional red flag, she turned an ordinary moment involving a runaway dog into a candid and humorous look at how quickly attraction can disappear.
It also offers a rare glimpse into Fisher’s dating life after her highly publicized split from Cohen, at a time when she has increasingly discussed independence, friendship and starting over.
Meanwhile, Fisher is promoting Spa Weekend, the comedy she stars in alongside Mann, Faris and Buteau.
The film is now in theaters.
