Jalen Brunson hosts ‘SNL’ Season 52 premiere — with help from Knicks teammates
There’s no I in team.
Jalen Brunson hosted the “Saturday Night Live” Season 52 premiere with the help of his New York Knicks teammates.
“Tonight, I’m going to approach hosting the same way as I approached the Knicks’ Finals games,” the NBA champ told the live audience Saturday.
“The first three-quarters of the show are going to be god-awful; the last sketch is going to be amazing,” Brunson, 30, added.
When the NBA star opened the floor for audience questions, his teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart raised their hands to be chosen.
Towns, also 30, jokingly asked Brunson if he could “foul out of ‘SNL.’”
After Brunson assured the center — who nearly fouled out during the NBA Finals in June — that he would be safe, Towns asked: “So I could be here like the whole show? Nice.”
Anunoby, 29, then asked Brunson, “Remember in Game 4, when you took that shot at the end and missed it?”
“Yeah, you tipped it in,” the point guard replied, with Anunoby quipping, “Oh yeah, that was awesome.”
After several hilarious sketches and performances from musical guests Katseye, Brunson wrapped the show by saying he was “going to get back to my real job pretty soon.”
Brunson made history with his “SNL” gig, becoming the first Big Apple basketball star from the franchise to host the sketch comedy show.
The guard and his teammates defeated the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals 2026 in June.
Since then, Brunson has had an epic summer — making an appearance at the Emmys 2026 and even joining his new BFF Mariska Hargitay on an episode of “Law & Order: SVU.”
