‘Killing Of A Nation’ Starring Aml Ameen Lands International Sales Rep Via Myriad Pictures — AFM
EXCLUSIVE: Myriad Pictures is handling international rights deals on the Haitian political thriller Killing Of A Nation, starring Aml Ameen (Rustin), at the American Film Market.
Also starring in the film are Jimmy Jean-Louis (Heroes), Aïssa Maïga (Russian Dolls), O-T Fagbenle (The Handmaid’s Tale), Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break), Ayoola Ayolola (The Chosen), Jairo Ordoñez (Sound of Freedom), Grainger Hines (Dr. Death), and Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things).
In the pic, Ameen plays Anderson Toussaint, a young American lobbyist for an investment fund in Haiti who becomes entangled in a web of corruption and power struggles after gaining access to President Jovenel Moise’s inner circle. The country’s political woes ultimately lead to the shocking assassination of Moïse, and the country descends further into chaos.
Carlos Bolado (Under California) directed the film from a screenplay by Jimena Gallardo. Olga Segura is producing with Harold Sánchez (El Rey, Vicente Fernández).
“I’ve always been drawn to stories that live between history and conspiracy, where truth itself becomes dangerous,” Bolado said in a statement.
“Killing of A Nation isn’t just about one man’s death; it’s about the forces that conspire to erase truth and silence those who seek it. Bringing that to the screen meant finding tension not only in the plot, but in the shadows between fact and fiction.”
Killing of A Nation is a Crooked Highways production. The filmmakers include composers Gus Reyes and Andrés Sánchez; Cinematographer Edgar Bahena; Editor Paco Guerrero; Casting Director Carla Hool; and Production Designer Denise Camargo.
