Kim Kardashian signs fan’s $45K Birkin bag: ‘This feels illegal’
Kim Kardashian’s most expensive autograph now lives on a Birkin bag.
At a Skims event in Shanghai Monday night, Kardashian was handed a metallic gold pen and asked to sign her name “in the middle” of a fan’s red crocodile Hermès Birkin 35, as seen in Instagram footage captured by WWD.
“This feels illegal,” Kardashian quipped, hesitating before taking the pen. “Oh my God. This feels blasphemous.”
Though the fan’s bag had gold hardware, a near-identical one with palladium hardware is currently available from luxury reseller Madison Avenue Couture for $44,500.
“This is so so so insane,” one person commented on WWD’s post, while another joked, “Imagine if it’s a fake Birkin and he ends up selling it for thousands just because Kim’s signature is on it.”
“He knows what he is doing. The value just went up. Wise man,” a third wrote.
It’s the perfect keepsake from the family who seems to have every Birkin and Kelly bag ever made; momager Kris Jenner, in fact, appears to own this exact bag her daughter autographed.
