Kyle, Texas, to host another year of free event for Kyles
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The City of Kyle is back at it again with the return of the “Gathering of the Kyles” in May, but this time, with different intentions. The city said in an announcement Tuesday that the event would be included in a weekend of fun.
Organizers said there would be a Kyle Kickback at the Kyle Fair beginning May 16 until May 18 at Lake Kyle.
The event has also morphed from previous years to include variations of the name “Kyle,” according to organizers.
“Is your name Kylie? Let’s party! Is your name Kiyell? Let’s party! Is your name Ky’all? Yeehaw, let’s party! Middle name Kyle? You get the point, we’re including ALL kinds of Kyles in the festivities this year,” the city said. “Not Kyle? Who knows, maybe we’ll make you an honorary Kyle for the weekend!”
The city has previously attempted to break the world record for the largest gathering of Kyles, but has fallen short the past two years.
This year’s event will be free to the public and include live music, dancing, and food competitions.
