Lindsay Clancy: Massive Support Grows For Killer Mom As GoFundMe Fundraiser Surpasses $1.1M After Mistrial

Lindsay Clancy’s supporters are pouring donations into a fundraiser after her murder trial ended with a hung jury following a tense week of deliberations. A GoFundMe campaign set up for Clancy’s parents, called “The Musgrove Family Fund,” has now surpassed $1.1 million in donations and continues to climb, bringing it closer to its ambitious $3 million goal.

In an update to the fundraising page Friday, the same day the mistrial was declared, organizer Brandee Mulligan said she had decided to increase the campaign’s financial target. “I’ve decided to raise the goal of this fundraiser since this process has been extended, so is the time Paula and Mike will remain away from their home, continuing to carry the costs that come with being there for their daughter every day,” Mulligan wrote.

“The original purpose of this fundraiser hasn’t changed — it’s simply to take one thing off their plate while they continue to show up for their family. If they have to keep showing up longer, I want to make sure the support does too.”

A GoFundMe spokesperson confirmed that the campaign is “verified” and told The new York Post that “all funds will go to Mike Musgrove as the intended beneficiary of the fundraiser.”

The fundraising page mentions that “Mike and Paula are the named beneficiaries of this GoFundMe and receive the funds directly. I do not have access to the money. The fundraiser was established with their knowledge and consent, and Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, is aware of it.”

However, Mulligan, a 42-year-old mother of three, previously told the Daily Mail that she had no contact with the Musgroves when she first created the fundraiser and “did it without even asking permission.”

“…It was just kind of an, “Oh my God, I hope this works out,” kind of thing’,” she said.

Clancy endured a grueling seven-week trial after being accused of killing her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and eight-month-old Callan — by strangling them with exercise bands.

Not the End

Following the killings, Musgrove, 70, and his wife, Paula, 73, moved about 150 miles from their home in Wallingford, Connecticut, to be closer to their daughter in Massachusetts.

Reddington argued that Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis that had been exacerbated by a range of prescription medications. Prosecutors, however, maintained that she was mentally competent and had deliberately planned the killings.

The 12-member jury, consisting of nine women and three men, sent three notes to the judge saying they could not reach a unanimous verdict. After seven days of deliberations, Judge William Sullivan ultimately declared a mistrial.

After the decision, the fundraising page was inundated with one-time and monthly donations ranging from $5 to $300, along with messages of support. During the trial, three supporters also made sizable $5,000 donations.

“My heart is with Lindsay and her parents. I cannot imagine the depth of the pain your family has endured and continues to carry,” one person wrote.

“This is donation #5,” another penned. “I can’t imagine what Lindsay and her family are feeling right now…”
