‘Love Island UK’s Gabriel Garland Breaks Silence After Being Removed For Stabbing Case Involvement: “I Don’t Have A Criminal Record”

Gabriel Garland, the Love Island UK Islander who was removed from the villa after being named in court documents in a stabbing incident, has broken his silence.

In a video shared on Instagram, Garland explains that he has no criminal record and a judge found that there wsa no wrongdoing on his part.

“It is a shame that I’m making this video, but after everything that’s been said about me over the past couple days, I just wanted to clear a few things up,” Garland said in a video shared on Instagram on Friday, July 3. “There was an incident that happened at a party I was at when I was a teenager. This incident is obviously one that should not be taken lightly, and was very traumatic for everyone concerned.”

He continued, “I just wanted to make it clear that the legal judge has found no wrongdoing against me, and I don’t have a criminal record. This has obviously resulted in me leaving Love Island, which is very disappointing, especially from a personal perspective.”

Garland noted that he was dumped from the ITV2 dating series while “forming a really, really strong connection in there as well, which you guys didn’t get to see, which is sad.”

“I just wanted to tell you guys this directly instead of having headlines say it for me, and thank people for sending me kind and supportive messages, it really means a lot,” he added. “I’m very grateful, because I do just want to move forward from this in a positive way, so thank you.”

Garland entered the Love Island UK Season 13 villa as one of the boys from Casa Amor. Although he was featured entering the villa with the other boys, his presence was heavily edited out after it came to production’s attention that he had been involved in a stabbing incident.

According to The Sun, Garland was named in court documents in the conviction of Vitor Mazzer, who was found guilty of two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent during New Year’s Eve in 2019. The filings note that the former Love Island UK bombshell had an altercation with the two victims that Mazzer stabbed. Garland was not convicted in the case, which may be why it didn’t come up in ITV’s background check.
