Machete Attack in Scotland Leaves Five Inured as Shitless Maniac Targeting Muslim Worshippers Is Arrested

Five people were injured in a violent machete attack in Scotland on Friday, according to reports. The shirtless attacker likely targeted Muslim worshippers during the incidents in Edinburgh. The 36-year-old suspect has not been publicly identified.

Authorities said the man first attacked two men near a mosque in the western part of the city before injuring three more later on Leith Walk. None of the injured victims are believed to be in a life-threatening condition, according to the BBC. The same suspect is also accused of causing significant damage during the same incident, including vandalizing a petrol station, attacking a taxi parked at the site, and disturbing a nearby pizzeria.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspect overturning shelves inside the station’s kiosk area and smashing the windows and windscreen of a vehicle. The suspect is also reported to have targeted the Origano Cafe & Pizzeria, where he allegedly hit the door with a machete before leaving the scene.

Video circulating online appears to show him being restrained and arrested, during which he claims he was “protecting his country” from Muslims.

In the footage, he can be heard shouting: “I’ve told you time and time again, I’m protecting the country from these f–king Muslim bastards. Raping our young daughters, raping our kids. Enough is enough. I have had enough,” as officers place him in handcuffs.

An Islamic community group, MEND Scotland, said that several of the victims in the attack are believed to be Muslim, according to BBC reporting.

The Muslim Council of Britain also released a statement urging members of the community to remain alert. In its message, the organization advised people to look out for one another and to report any suspected Islamophobic hate crimes to the police.

A spokesperson added, “To our community: stay vigilant, look out for one another, and please report any Islamophobic hate crimes to the police.” Assistant Chief Constable Catriona Paton of Police Scotland issued a statement offering reassurance to the Muslim community in the wake of the attack.

She said: “I want to send a clear message of support to all our communities that there is no place for racism or faith-based hate in Scotland which is at its best when we stand working together,” according to BBC reporting.

Authorities have confirmed that the case is now being handled by counter-terrorism police, as reported by The Scottish Sun. The suspect remains in police custody, and no charges have been announced so far.
