The season premiered on Sunday (July 20) with some changes, including the network and experts. After airing on Lifetime since 2017, the American reality television series moved to Peacock for the new season. Along with the network change, the three experts featured on the show, Dr. Pia Holec, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Pastor Cal Roberson, also changed.
Married at First Sight UK expert Paul C. Brunson and Dr. Lisa Paz joined the show this season. Brunson has over 25 years of experience as a dating and relationship coach, while Paz has more than 20 years of experience as a family and marriage therapist. She also has 10 years of clinical experience in sex therapy. Together, they helped single men and women marry at first sight and find their forever partners.
Another big change that the producers introduced this season was casting a former reality star. The Circle and Perfect Match alum Nick Uhlenhuth participated in the social experiment in hopes of finding his perfect partner. The producers reintroduced group sessions, allowing participants to share updates on their relationship with the experts in a group setting. For the first time in the history of this social reality dating experiment, fourteen singles (seven couples) joined the show to meet their forever partners. They were Marissa Meyer and Adam Dehmlow, Tori Dahl and Felipe Cruz, Nikki Jefferson and Shawn Best, Michelle Le and Cameron Mitchell, Courteney Landis and Nick Uhlenhuth, Caitlin Grimm and Devin Short, and BelleJolie Force and Mecca Amen.
Landis and Uhlenhuth called it quits before Decision Day. Grimm and Short also ended their marriage days before the finale. Viewers are now eagerly waiting for the success story from Michelle and Cameron, Marissa and Adam, Tori and Felipe, BelleJolie and Mecca, and Nikki and Shawn.
Married at First Sight is a reality social dating experiment in which experts pair the participants.
